So how much is the typical cost ? a lot of clients prefer to undertake the administration of probate themselves eg. notifying utility companies of a death etc, and as such leave the legal side to ourselves which involves the application to the probate registry for the issue of the Grant of probate. It is this aspect of the probate process which  most Executors seek our help on. Thereafter as part of our fixed fee service we will often collect the assets as well, as we are familiar with all the forms and procedures of the banks.
